The profession of investment management is regulated and supervised in Luxembourg by the CSSF, the Luxembourg financial regulator. Registration as AIFM is submitted to an application and authorisation of the CSSF. Exemptions for AIFM exists and are more and more often used, leading to the creation of more than 1000 Special Limited Parnerships (SLPs) in Luxembourg at this stage.
