New Resident Permit to redomicile to Luxembourg

In Luxembourg, a new law on the free movement of persons and on immigration redefines the rules to grant resident permits for non EU citizen.

Hence, the candidate of the Luxembourg permit of residence has to follow some requirements in terms of investments:

to invest not less than EUR 500.000 in an existing company, which has its registered office in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for at least 5 years
to invest not less than EUR 500.000 in a company to be created, which has its registered office in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for at least 5 years
to invest not less than EUR 3 million in an existing or to be created investment and management structure, which has its registered office in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
to invest not less than EUR 20 million in the form of a deposit with a financial institution estblishe in Luxembourg, with the commitment to maintain this investment for at least 5 years.

This new Law was voted in February 2017. The EU citizens are automatically allowed to stay in Luxembourg without such a permit.
